Since more than one year me and my girlfriend travel around the world. Our photo gear is packed in the Guru from F-Stop Gear with an ICU Medium Shallow. The backpack survived everything from the heat of Death Valley to the cold of Antarctica. Everyday we open and close the zippers several times as well as the straps. Everything works still smoothly.
Only the corners of the bottom of the backpack show clearly signs of the daily usage. It would be nice if these corners were strengthened with some rubber. Yet we don’t have any wholes but the fabric is getting thinner and thinner. Nevertheless we hope that the Guru from F-Stop Gear will survive our journey through South America.
For us the Guru from F-Stop Gear is the perfect photo daypack strolling around or doing some day hikes. If we are on longer (multiday) hikes we just grap the ICU with our gear and pack it in our hiking backpack. See how the ICU easily fits in my Gregory Baltoro in this article.
